Save the Date for the 2025 Guardians Run
Saturday, October 25th!
Join us in Orillia on October 25th for the 2025 Guardians Run! Choose from a 5K or 10K and support Special Olympics athletes. We're calling on every police chief, Bureau Commander, Unit Commander, and Detachment Commander to rally their teams, raise a minimum of $250, and be guardians of this incredible cause. Let's come together to make this event a memorable success—register, donate, run, and show your support!
BECOME A GUARDIAN
For every $250 donated, pledged or raised, you will become an Honorary Guardian!
This $250 donation will allow one Special Olympics Ontario athlete to take part in a sport of their choosing, assisting with registration fees, equipment purchases, and uniforms.
Each Honorary Guardian will receive:
- Social media recognition highlighting your donation
- Recognition on the Honorary Guardians portion of the website
- Thank you letter

Registration
Online registration will close on October 24th at midnight! Walk-up registrations will be accepted on race day before 10AM.
Kit Pickup
Location: OPP GHQ - 700 Memorial Avenue, Orillia
Pick-up between 4pm and 6pm on Friday the 24th
If you are unable to pick up your race kit on Friday, you will be able to pick it up at registration on Saturday morning.
For our Virtual Registrants: your kit (t-shirt and medal) will be mailed directly to you after the race!
Race Day Schedule
7:15am - 7:30am – Volunteers Arrive
8:30am - Registration Opens
9:45am - Procession of the Torch
10:00am - 10km Run Start (Wave 1)
10:10am - 5km Run Start (Wave 2)
Parking
OPP Overflow Lot - 777 Memorial Ave, Orillia
(Left of OPP General Headquarters, off of Memorial Ave.)
Registration
Once parked, volunteers will direct you to registration, where you will receive your Guardians T-Shirt and Chip Timing Bib.
Walk-Up Registrations
Online registration closes at midnight on the 24th, and walk-up registrations will be accepted on the day of the event. Let your friends and colleagues who haven't registered know that they can still sign up and race Saturday morning!
Bag Check
Bag check will be available on-site. Ask Registration for the location!
Cheering Sections
Local Special Olympics athletes will be cheering you on throughout the course. Your contributions to the Guardians Run directly benefit, and help them return to the playing field when safe to do so. Give them a friendly wave!
