Victorian Enamelled Swallow Locket & Collar gemstone he usually served as aDATE: Victorian, c. 1860 A gorgeous antique locket and collar dating from the Victorian period, circa 1880. The front of the locket features a lovely enamelled swallow and branch, and opens to reveal glass and fittings with a pinky red insert. It hangs from a silver bookchain collar and is crafted in sterling silver throughout. Birds of all kinds were depicted in Victorian jewellery, but the most common were swallows and doves. Swallows were a very
