Buzz Rickson’s ‘Jeep Cap’ – Olive John Lofgren 5 85 87 87 87Adopted by the U. S. Army in 1941, the wool Jeep Cap was issued to soldiers serving in harsh winter conditions. Its rib knit crown and short brim allowed it to be worn comfortably under the M 1 steel helmet, while the folded band could be pulled down to protect ears and neck.
